Utilize Your Texas 2022 Child Care Relief Funds With Green Space

The Texas Workforce Commission approved the distribution of $2.45 billion from the American Rescue Plan Act fund in October 2021. Since then, an additional $1 billion of COVID relief funding has been added bringing up the total available funding for the Texas Child Care Relief Fund to $3.4 billion. These funds can be used towards professional development for your early learning or child care center as well as all outdoor learning spaces, including playgrounds, to purchase equipment that encourages play, learning, and child development. Funds can also be used for child care and early learning professional development.

The Texas Child Care Relief Fund 2022 (CCRF) is now taking applications to help child care programs and centers in Texas recover from the pandemic’s impact. The CCRF does require eligibility to apply. Child care centers such as daycares, pre-schools, and other organizations providing child care programming in the state of Texas may be eligible. Proof of license or registration within the State of Texas with Child Care Regulation will need to be provided to fully complete your application. The center or program may be temporarily closed at the time of application if it is due to COVID public health safety, but a commitment must be made to remain open until May 2023. The Texas Workforce Commission has provided helpful information to prepare you to apply.
